Wetland Wander

Experience the amazing Creery Wetland Reserve and discover why Mandurah’s dedicated community fought to save these wetlands from development. Get up close and personal with Mandurah’s samphire saltmarshes. Meet our resident waterbirds and during October-March, observe international visitors: remarkable migratory shorebirds.

Duration & Departures: 2 hours, Thursdays 10am.

Samphire Sojourn

Discover the varied habitats of Samphire Cove Nature Reserve. Nestled behind the western end of Mandurah’s Estuary Bridge, Samphire Cove boasts two bird hides, remnant Eucalyptus coastal woodland and samphire salt marsh, all in the heart of Mandurah! This protected little cove provides wonderful bird watching opportunities as well as great views of Mandurah’s city centre and surrounding canal homes across the Peel-Harvey Estuary.

Duration & Departures: 1.5 hours, 1:30pm Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Distance: 1.5km, part loop.

Len Howard Conservation Park

Come and explore beautiful Len Howard Conservation Park long the Erskine Trail. Wander through diverse habitats including remnant old growth swamp paperbark and banksia coastal woodland. Travel along boardwalks meandering through a network of samphire saltmarshes. The trail fringes the estuary shoreline, offering plenty of opportunities to spot waterbirds. During certain times of the year, it’s also possible to observe breeding ospreys at an artificial nesting platform along the trail.A shuttle service at the end of the walk will transport us back to our vehicles.

NEW! Dolphin Shuttle & Wetland Wander Package

Fancy adding a boat ride on the estuary and maybe some lunch as part of your Creery Wetland experience? Ways To Nature has teamed up with Mandurah Cruises and Nourishing The Soul Café to bring you the Dolphin Shuttle & Wetland Wander Package. On the weekends, enjoy Mandurah Cruise’s Dolphin Shuttle service across the estuary before departing on a 1.5hr guided nature walk through the Creery Wetlands Reserve from Mariners Cove jetty. Participants also receive a voucher for either a 10% discount on a meal purchase or $8 coffee and cake combo at the delicious Nourishing the Soul Café adjacent to the jetty.

Creery Wetlands Reserve is a special place
It was great to see and learn about the Creery Wetland. Our tour guide explained the history and significance of the area while showing us all the different birds and animals. Great way to spend the morning. I had no idea there were such unique and beautiful places here.
