Description
Founded in 1840, Sandalford is one of Western Australia's oldest and largest privately owned wineries. Located at the original property on the banks of the Swan River, Sandalford Estate is just 25 minutes drive from the city. The Swan Valley boasts some of the oldest wineries in WA, superb restaurants, galleries and fine accommodation.
Sandalford's award-winning wines reflect contemporary wine making and include a Premium Collection and the popular Element Range. Recent modernisation increased Sandalford's capacity to almost one million litres in French and American Oak barrels and 600 square metres of underground storage. These state-of-the-art facilities permit custom requests of maturation stock.
In addition to leading bottle shops, hotels and restaurants in Australia, you will find Sandalford wines in over three dozen countries and five continents.
Cellar Door:
The Cellar Door at Sandalford's Swan Valley Estate is one of Western Australia largest cellar doors, brimming with everything wine related, from glassware, bottle openers and gift ideas to local and international artwork. The Cellar Door is located only 25 minutes north east from the Perth CBD.
Winery Tour:
Your Sandalford Experience commences with the history of Sandalford Estate in a private custom built theatrette. Next, you journey behind the scenes and tour the operational winery from suspended overhead walkways. You will discover Sandalford's winemaking process from vine to bottle.
Following the tour, a comprehensive wine appreciation session walks you step by step through evaluating and enjoying wine. This unique tour and tasting experience also includes a wine education booklet.
The Sandalford Experience tour and tasting, which costs $22 per person, operates daily at 11am and 3pm. The duration is approximately 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Group discounts, minimum of twenty, are also available. Bookings are essential for large groups.
Sandalford Estate Restaurant:
Experience a unique blend of vineyard views, fresh regional produce, innovative Australian cuisine, great wines and unmatched service at Sandalford Restaurant. Opened in 1998, this Swan Valley restaurant is ideal for relaxed casual dining, formal corporate meetings or social functions.
Dine amongst the rustic ambience of limestone, wood and a grand open fire. For a historic touch, try the relaxed alfresco atmosphere under 118 year old vines with beautiful views of vineyards and surrounds.

Fantastic lazy Sunday lunch
While visiting Friends in Perth we came here with our 2 children, they do a kids menu as well , loved the ambiance of the place , everything was spot on to the service the foodand the wines we were offered
My wife had the venison with Gnocchi which was sublime and by far the best of the dishes
We are planning another trip to Perth in January and will definitely be back. Oh and another thing I should mention is that when you have lunch you get 25% discount on your wine purchases ?
Absolutely wonderful experience
Visiting Perth w my family and had an absolutely wonderful experience at Sandalford Winery swan valley.Booked the winemaker apprenticeship experience after seeing online and getting intrigued. And rightfully so! It was a truly unique experience guided by Stephen the assistant Cellar door manager. He was knowledgeable and patient in guiding us and sharing w us more on the scent, colour and taste of wines. We had a mini competition amongst the six of us to see who had the best blend. Many thanks to Stephen for making this experience so wonderful and memorable
Megan was our guide after, for the winery tour and she was truly v well versed in the processes and the questions about the winery.
We had lunch at the in house restaurant after and the food, especially entrees were amazinggg. Please do try the autumn set menu.
