Description

The Rose and Crown in historic Guildford is WA's oldest operating Hotel and is situated in the historic Perth suburb of Guildford. A truly impressive Western Australian landmark, the stately Rose & Crown set on 2.5 acres commands a prominent position amongst the variety of shops and cafés gracing leafy Swan Street in Guildford.

RESTAURANTS
Guests may choose to dine from the a-la-carte menu in the 1841 Restaurant, dine al fresco in the atmospheric garden (which includes the first rose planted in WA) or enjoy a delicious meal while lounging at leisure in the Posh Convict restaurant and bar. The covered deck bar area is the perfect spot for a warm day, and features misters to cool things down and a simple menu of pub grub.

HISTORY
Dating back to WA's early convict days, the Rose and Crown harbours a number of interesting tales from its past. Folklore has it that the tunnel which lies underneath the 160 year old floor leads to the river and a working well, where fresh water was once used to produce the hotel's beer.

Exceptional
Liked · The rooms are comfortable and clean and the location is fantastic. The breakfast was really good too, one of the best I have had. Great place to stay if you visit the Perth area.

Great spot
Good size motel rooms, plenty of parking if driving, good food in the pub, good staff, interesting historic building, check out the cellar. close to the railway station. Walking to other pubs easy for something different if needed. Virtually the start of the swan valley. Overall a good spot for a few days and will be back.

Good value for money.
It was clean, it had a good old feel and charm about the place, and the room was nice size.

I liked it and enjoyed it, very good value for the money and would recommend for the savvy people looking for somewhere nice to stay who have a budget.
