Description
Opened in December 2022, our architecturally designed 'little houses' exemplify sustainable tourism, displaying how you can make a lighter impact while travelling. Powered by solar energy and rainwater, the property is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in nature from the moment you arrive.
Accessed via a private driveway on unspoiled active pastoral land that has seen only family for over 130 years, you will feel like your worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Vern’s Ridge is nestled above an historic, abandoned farmhouse and thoughtfully designed with all the creature comforts you could want. Large picture windows connect you to the outside throughout the property creating the sensation of sleeping and living in the trees. Snuggled on the bed, sundowners on the deck or wrapped in a blanket toasting marshmallow around the outside firepit, you have front row seats to natures show.
Vern's Ridge is furnished with design-led, sustainable amenities and fixtures, such as natural linen bedding, upcycled wool blankets, and an Ocean Cycle certified Ecosa mattress made from recycled plastic bottles collected from the ocean.
Little House Republic is dedicated to making a positive impact on both the environment and local communities. We strive to reduce waste and energy usage while also nurturing the land and collaborating with local producers and craftspeople.
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our property, as our guests can calculate their journey to us and purchase offsets to support Western Australian landscape restoration and conservation projects through our partnership with Carbon Positive Australia.
Whether its a hike to our private beach, exploring nearby national parks and wineries, or simply relaxing with a good book, we invite you to experience sustainable luxury in the heart of nature.
