Description

About us: Two of your host Tina and Winton’s favourite things are Esperance and dogs. So, it was important to us that our holiday accommodation fitted around this. We love to tell our guests about places and experiences within Esperance that they might not always get from a tourism brochure.

About the units & property: There are just two self-contained units on the property with a large balcony overlooking the lake. The owners live upstairs. Each unit has a queen bed and is suitable for 1-2 adults (sorry, no children). We are also EcoValley Honey and love to give our guests a sample of our delicious raw, gourmet honey. If the chooks are being good girls, you’ll also get some fresh eggs. And… we encourage you to go for a wander and help yourself to whatever happens to be growing in our rambling garden, whilst you’re here.

Because it’s a doggy holiday too, your well-behaved dogs are welcome off-leash on the property. Please note: Whilst the property is fenced, there is no gate at the entry and exit. All the good doggy things – smells, lake, etc – are well away from the entrances and we’ve never had any issues.

Naming EcoValley Retreat: We decided some years ago, before the holiday accommodation was even an idea, to name the property. We’ve always felt that the property was a ‘retreat’ from day-to-day worries and the outside world so that part of the name was easy. We’re fairly eco-conscious. We are off-grid, use ecofriendly cleaning sprays and no nasties on our garden as we love our bees. Don’t worry, we have the mod-cons – you won’t be warming your hands or cooking your dinner over a campfire, although that’s fun too! And… we live on Valley Road so that just seemed to fall into place.

Thanks for reading our story. We hope to meet you soon! x

Exceeded expectations
What a fantastic place! Every single detail has been thought of. We stayed for two nights with our large dog and wish we could have stayed longer. We loved that our dog could run off-leash and explore the place whilst also having a safe place for her to be secured so that we could explore the National Park. Super hosts Tina and Winton kindly provided eggs, honey, access to their veggie garden and an abundance of local knowledge which was immensely appreciated. We definitely recommend staying here.

Fantastic place
EcoValley Retreat is located about 10 minutes out of Esperance in the locality of Pink Lakes. To get there, GPS maps get it all wrong, so obtain a street map and head for Pink Lakes town centre, then follow Pink Lakes Rd until you get to Valley Rd on the right. At the end of the road is the entry, which is an unsealed bush track. The facility is run and owned by Winton and Tina and comprises a secluded two storey timber building with the guest rooms facing the small valley. The building is located on a ridge, so the views from the rooms capture the green, lush tree canopy in the valley. The owners are very friendly and caring. As the name suggests, the retreat is eco friendly. All power comes from solar panels, wind turbines or backup generator that runs on recycled bio-diesel. There is satellite TV in the rooms. You can bring your dog and even leave it in a sheltered roomy kennel at the side of the house if you want to venture out to Nature Reserves. The rooms have a new fresh feel ab
