Description

One of the best reasons for holidaying in the Pilbara is the fantastic fishing! If you have your own boat, natural boat ramps are available at Gnoorea Point (40 Mile) Nature-based camping area.
Exercise caution, when planning a trip on the water and be sure to allow for the 5 metre tides.

CONDITIONS OF PERMIT TO CAMP **EACH VEHICLE REQUIRES A PERMIT TO CAMP**
- 28 night maximum stay
- Each campsite must have a chemical toilet as on site toilets are for day use visitors only
- If you can't find a site, contact the caretaker
- Campers may be directed to another site to prevent overcrowding
- Camping is not permitted where coastal rehabilitation works have been undertaken
- No potable water on site
- Sullage points are available
- During the camping season, check in with the caretaker to be directed to a suitable site
- Camp only within the existing campsites
- Maintain 3m clearance between campsites
- Site must be tidy and clear on departure
- Rubbish must be placed in the bins
- Bring your own firewood for cooking fires (no existing foliage to be damaged)
- No open fires of any type on very high, extreme or catastrophic fire danger days
- Antisocial behaviour is not tolerated
- Animals are permitted subject to the following
** All animals are to enclosed in a caravan, tent, fenced area or suitably enclosed are sufficient to contain the animal
** If an animal cannot be enclosed, the owner or person who has care/control of a dog is to ensure that the dog is kept on a leash and under full control of a responsible person
** The owner or person who has control of the animal is to ensure that the animal is not a nuisance to any other person or animal, and penalties apply
- Off road vehicles are only permitted if the vehicle is a registered Off Road Vehicle. Restrictions apply in relation to age of the driver and passengers, safety equipment and noise regulations must be adhered to (Penalties apply)
- Off road vehicles - keep to tracks. Like other outdoor recreationists, 4wd vehicles, motor bikes and quad bike owners and drivers have a responsibility or 'duty of care' to help protect WA flora and fauna, natural landscapes and sand dunes
- Be courteous with the use of generators (switch off between 10pm and 6am)
- Should you bring carpet or other flooring to place at your campsite, it must be removed when you leave. A $200 on the spot fine can be issued for littering if you leave it behind at the site or at the bin areas. Karratha & Wickham transfer stations are free for domestic rubbish
- It is an offence to camp on private land without the consent of the land owner
- Please stay on any existing footpaths or walk trails.
