The layout of the home is split across three levels. The living area plus master bedroom and ensuite are on the top level; a shared bathroom and separate laundry are on the mid-level; and two remaining bedrooms are on the ground floor.
Orchid House is also a wonderful bushland haven for discovering wildflowers in spring and for watching the visiting Baudin cockatoos, parrots and kangaroos that frequent this five-acre property throughout the year. Wildflowers found on this property include rattle orchids, swan river myrtles, kangaroo paws, enamel orchids, blue lady orchids and donkey orchids but you have to time your visit to see them. The best months to view the wildflowers are September and October.
Reverse cycle air-conditioning during summer in the open-plan living area plus electric column heaters and a cosy wood fire in winter make this home an ideal getaway in comfort at any time of the year.

Please note that a compulsory additional cleaning and linen pack fee applies to each booking. Please note that a $800 refundable bond applies to each booking as well as a $66 booking fee (including GST). Credit cards attract a 1.75% fee (Visa and Mastercard) however you can pay by direct bank transfer.

A refundable security bond will apply to each booking (varies from $200 to $1,000), and is payable with the final payment prior to your stay. Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside any property or on verandahs or decks Parties, weddings and functions of any kind are strictly prohibited at Down South Holidays properties. We also do not allow Leavers and associated bookings. Check-in time is 3pm or later on the arrival date specified in the Check- In Letter and check out time is no later than 10am on the departure date specified in the Check-In Letter. These times must be strictly adhered to. Secluded and Peaceful
The property is absolutely beautiful and well furnished with plenty of things to do. The house is in a great location secluded enough to enjoy the serenity and still close to the wineries. The bathrooms and kitchen are beautifully done up. Would love to stay here again in the future!The kids had a blast exploring nature and jumping on the trampoline. Our Labrador was in heaven with all the space , nearby beaches.
Location couldn’t be better minutes to Smiths beach , amazing wineries at the doorstep. Definitely coming back. Thank you
Relax with friends
Such a lovely property in such a beautiful setting. We were all very comfortable and had a great time. Unfortunately the oven didn’t work properly which was a little inconvenient and disappointing. The house is perfectly located with so many wineries, galleries and activities a short drive away. I would recommend anyone to visit this property summer or winter.
