Truly Magnificent!
A truly magnificent train journey through some of Australians most diverse scenery. Gold Class has exception meals, great service and pleasant decor. Off-train excursions were okay. A must for every Australian to view our great outback, mountains, and capital cities.Perfect way to see the country!
My wife and I were visiting Oz for the first time and this was the perfect way to see a lot of the country. We booked one of the few Gold Superior cabins as it has a small double bed instead of bunk beds. I have mobility problems and this was an excellent situation.We boarded the train on 10th October in rainy Sydney and were immediately put at ease by our cabin steward. We started in the lounge for the trivia quiz which was an excellent way for people to meet up and get to know each other. By the time we reached Perth on Saturday afternoon, we were like longtime friends.
Onboard, the food was excellent. The excursions too were great. Especially the barbecue at Rawlinna and the visit to Maclaren Vale.
We have very fond memories of this journey.
Trip of a Lifetime!
We travelled Platinum class on the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth, an experience of a lifetime. The staff, the meals the cabin, were all of a very high standard. We were treated like royalty. The off-board experiences did not disappoint us either. A wonderful journey, over too quickly. Thank you Great Southern Rail and a big thanks to our room attendant from Sydney to Adelaide, Raini, what a bubbly personality, a real charmer!!!
