Great people, great wine and coffee, great value
We spent a fair bit of time in the Denmark / Mount Barker region and I’m pretty sure the warmest greeting we got was from Gill and Gavin at West Cape Howe.
The fire was going and the coffee they roast was awesome (you can buy beans as well).
But the wines are terrific and at a really good price point. We ended up with a few cartons.
It’s a touch out of the way, but we’ll worth the trip.

So much choice!
Quite a few metallic sculptures greet you before you enter the winery. Good prices and a vast array of wines to try which some are a little unusual, like the vermentino. This would be a good picnic spot too, but they also sell food. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

Incredible place, even better service
Stumbled across West Cape Howe after looking at wineries in Mt Barker. Couldn’t have been more impressed! First impression walking in was beautiful with a roaring fire and lovely lounges - made for a cosy winters day. We had our dog travelling with us and the staff were more than accomodating for her.. showering her with pats and attention before turning to us. We tried a few different wines and Jacqui was great with her explanations of wines, recommending different ones to try and what she liked best.
We then decided to have a platter and Jacqui and Evie (it was her first day) made the most incredible platter for us.
The vineyard itself was immaculate and beautiful to sit outside on the tables in the sun.
All in all, highly recommend.
